Do you suffer from back pain?
Do you know how important it is to maintain the correct ergonomic posture while sitting at your desk?
Did you know that many of the lower back problems, headaches, Joint and muscle pains are associated to an incorrect ergonomic posture?
What is ergonomics?
The "International Ergonomics Association" [1] describes ergonomics as:
- The profession which applies theory, principles, data, and methods to design products to optimize human wellbeing.
The objective of ergonomics studies is to find the best way possible to adapt products, activities, tools, spaces and surroundings to the capacity and needs of human beings to better the efficiency, the security and the wellbeing of people.
Why is ergonomic posture important?
Several studies published in magazines and health journals suggest that the incorrect ergonomic posture can cause many problems such as lower back pain, general back pain, neck pain, muscular pain, joint soreness, among many others.
In recent years the increase in the number of cases of lower back pain and back pain, have accelerated the study of ergonomics. More and more there are organizations that study ergonomics in the work environment and companies are introducing changes to their work environments to accommodate for ergonomic products in an ongoing effort to minimize the problems associated with incorrect ergonomic posture, such as back pain.
With this in mind we have seen an ever-growing number of companies introducing ergonomics studies into their R & D to produce better products for the health of human beings. Today there are many companies that produce several products that have an "ergonomic posture conscience".
But correct ergonomic posture does not have to start at the workplace
Children and Ergonomic Posture
With the number of back pain cases due to incorrect ergonomic posture growing, it is highly important to point out that the problem has to be solved from its roots, starting at home.
Children have to grow up with the habit of good posture in their minds, and for this, there are many companies that have developed products to help families teach their children habits of correct ergonomic posture during their daily activities such as eating, studying, doing homework. By starting early and having the right products it is possible to educate our children to always look for products that will help them maintain good ergonomic posture and prevent back pain and other ailments generated due to incorrect ergonomic posture.
By analyzing children's and teenager's (between 5 and 18) activities during the day we can assert that most of the time is dedicated to studying and doing homework, which is why it is highly important they keep the correct ergonomic posture during these activities.
How many children and teenagers do their homework sitting at the kitchen table? On the couch? On the floor? Do you think this will help eliminate future back pain? Do you think this can be prevented?
With this in mind, a German company has designed a desk and chair system for children. This system provides the correct ergonomic posture at all times.
What is the ergonomic posture desk and chair system?
Basically it consists of a desk that can be adjusted and graduated for height and inclination, and a chair that can also be adjusted for height and for lower back support. This system can be adjusted so that you always maintain the correct ergonomic posture, and thus eliminate the back pain.
And here is the best part: The desk and chair system grows with your child!
So, what is the right ergonomic posture? How does the desk and chair system achieve the right ergonomic posture? Find out more about this system at http://www.ambiant.com.gt/ergonomicposture.htm
